Website Redesign Challenge

Launch Your New Site by New Years!

Has redesigning your website been on your goal list all year? Join me in a 4 week website redesign challenge, and launch your new site by New Years!

Each week students will be invited to join in on a live online class, taught by me, Katie Price. Our class sessions will consist of a one-hour live class meeting where I will cover that week’s topic, answer your specific questions, and assign the challenge homework for the upcoming week. Recordings will be available for students who miss class!

During the 4 week challenge, I will be redesigning Priceless Design right alongside you. You'll be able to see how I'm using the homework and redesigning my site in real time!

The live class sessions are designed to give you examples and the motivation you need to do the work. While the challenge homework will give you an action plan for the week.

Students who turn their homework in on-time will receive personal feedback from me about their work. I'll look at what you are doing and give you an expert opinion and guidance on how to make your website even better!

Students will also have access to an exclusive Pop Up Facebook Group between class sessions to encourage and support one another, bounce ideas around, and get valuable feedback. The relationships built in the community will be priceless as you support one another and grow together!

The challenge starts November 20th, are you in?

Here's the game plan:

Week 00: Research and Planning

Before the first class session, students will be asked to do some homework that includes research and planning for their redesign. The homework will help you take a close look at your current brand and website to see where you're doing great and what could be improved.

Week 01: Logo and Style Guide

Get your logo and brand style guide in tip top shape. If you've never created a style guide for your brand, this will be a great opportunity to define your branding. This will probably be the hardest week for most students because as designers we're our own worst critics, but we'll get through it together!

Week 02: Home Page Design

Using whatever design program you feel most comfortable in, each student will create a mockup of their new home page design. We'll go over mockup tips and tricks in our live class session as well as what to include (and leave off).

Week 03: Web Development

The fun begins as we take our home page mockup and code it on a test site! This week's class will cover my PSD to Genesis WP workflow, but you're welcome to develop on whatever platform you prefer.

Week 04: Perfect Page Content

This week will focus on the page content of our site. Our class session will cover the main pages you should have on your site, as well as best practices for your portfolio. We'll also spend time talking about how to craft your packages and write your services page. By the end of the week you should be ready to launch your new site!

Class Schedule:

  • November 20: Logo and Style Guide
  • November 27: Home Page Design
  • December 04: Web Development
  • December 11: Perfect Page Content

All classes will be held on Tuesday nights at 9pm EST. Recordings are available for those who can't attend live.

Frequently Asked Questions

When does the course start and finish?
The live class sessions will take place November 20th through December 11th. After enrolling, you have unlimited access to the course recordings and materials for at least one year - across any and all devices you own.
What if I am unhappy with the course?
We would never want you to be unhappy! If you are unsatisfied with your purchase, contact us in the first 30 days and we will give you a full refund.
Who is this course for?
This course is best for beginning and intermediate web designers who are looking to redesign their website (or design it for the first time.) Students should have built a minimum of 2-3 websites in the past and be comfortable writing CSS and editing code. This course does not teach basic Photoshop skills, graphic design, or advanced coding. This class is less about the technical aspects of web design, and more about accountability and guidance to get your new site launched!
What if I'm not a web designer?
Sadly, this course is not for you. This course is for web designers who already understand the basics of building a website and are comfortable with web design and development.
What platform will you be developing on?
I will be designing my site in WordPress, and the course materials will be focused towards building a WordPress website. If you are a Squarespace designer you are still welcome to take the course, however Week 3: Web Development won't be as useful to you. You can take that week to develop in Squarespace instead!
Recommended Materials
In this course, I will be utilizing a few paid products that I believe are 100% worth the investment. I will also let you know when and where there are free alternatives. I will be using Photoshop, Coda, The Genesis Framework, and Flywheel Hosting while teaching the course.
